In the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16, Crystal Palace will host Cypriot side AEK Larnaca. Ahead of the match, Palace head coach Oliver Glasner spoke about the two teams meeting again.

On the 0–1 defeat in the league phase

“We always review the match footage when we have the opportunity, learn from it and identify areas we can exploit. This is how we always prepare, and it’s what we tell the players.”

“On the other hand, we also want the players to show creativity in attack and play with more freedom. Of course, it’s about showing them where we can find spaces, because it’s not easy when the opponent uses a very compact defensive structure.”

On Crystal Palace’s Conference League ambitions

“At the moment, I feel we are getting closer and closer to the goals we set when we started this competition. We want to go as far as possible and hopefully reach the final in the end.”
